Thoughts on Being a Guest Speaker

Well, today I “surprisingly” found myself attending the “CSI Nights” event of the I love Iloilo team by Gawad Kalinga – I was listening to three amazing speakers and let’s just say I got inspired of what they were discussing. After the forum and the little chit-chats, I came across a college friend, Tracy. Yeah. Small city! :) So I said “Hi.” – technically I said her name… then for a brief moment, I disappeared like a pro ninja!

Fourteen Long Days and a Ton of Backlogs

Remember my previous post about “Facebook and living life differently?” Well, I had a 2-week-hiatus. I went to my father’s homeland in Cauayan, Negros and the following week, I was in Compostela, Cebu. Now, I’m back home with a queezy feeling of wanting to travel some more. Who would have thought that I would love to meet new people and experience new things rather than just sit on my comfy chair and type and design all day long and eat the same food and do the same things over and over again. It’s somewhat ridiculous. :)

The Red Indian Dance on a Wedding!

This made me wonder how a bride and groom would feel if there were Red Indians dancing on their wedding! Not the Indian Indians. But the Native American Indians. Haha! Just a thought!

Earlier today I got a link to an interesting game going on in the WordPress.com blogging community and I was tagged by a great and creative writer whom I got to know more! Thanks Aisha! This is indeed a special time to relax and an opportunity to write some words that are now running through my head. Light bulb on! :D Continue reading

What a Normal Web Designer Does

This week I got a lot of calls from my clients regarding their design requests and mock-ups. Oooh! My phones were constantly ringing and in every call, I would to take that “deep breath” just to have the courage to talk to them. haha! The best thing about my job is that I could use my creativity to construct websites for those who are aiming to set up their company’s web presence. Well, online presence is a “must-have” nowadays. The bad thing is – deadlines! Boooooo! :P

Let me walk you through my “web designer” life because I rarely talk about it (well, there’s nothing much to talk about anyway) haha!

Wednesdays at Le Reve

Valentine’s Day was so yesterday! Boo! We had a spontaneous “Post Valentine’s Day” celebration at Le Reve Deli and Cafe a few days ago. I was with my friend, Jed, now tagged as my “Food Buddy” since we really enjoy playing the role of “Amateur Food Critics.” The both of us enjoyed each other’s company, despite being “single” and “unattached” as of the moment. Haha! Why not? At least we could talk to one anothernot all alone in the corner of our rooms trying to have a conversation with the mirror for it to look like we’re having one! :)

Coffee Keeps Me Alive During “Hell Weeks”

Literally keeping me alive! :)

Whether being stuck with a mountain of design jobs or a simple case of “I feel so darn sleepy,” coffee really helps! Need I say more? I’ve been bombarded with “responsibilities” this week and not to mention the earthquake that hit us last Monday! – I am in dire need of caffeine in my system right now just to compensate for everything that is happening. Lol! Continue reading

Oh No! Fat Girl Singing!

Talentadong Sittizens. The Ilongga in the middle. Wooah!

Several pounds heavier, a few waistline inches larger, and equally distributed adipose tissues all over the body – in short, two “obviously-I-was-very-fat” years ago, I joined a talent contest. OMFG! Nothing big like that of the American Idol (Thank goodness!). It was more of a social gathering among the people who admire Sitti and bossa nova – The Sittizens. It was the first (and maybe the last) 2010 Sittilympics that was held at Batis Aramin, Lucban, Quezon in the month of May. Continue reading

Casa Verde Cebu: Lapsing In A Food Coma

Being in a different place aside from Iloilo City gives me a huge flash of green light which urges me to tell myself to “Stop all that diet crap and just eat that darn delicious slab of food!” Which occasionally is a rivalry between “gluttony” and “conscience” – in either way, gluttony is fairly my game! Welcome to my Cebu City food adventure – where the term “Food Coma” runs into existence. lol! :)

Eyebags: This or That?

When it comes to pulling off an all-nighter, I am darn qualified to do the job perfectly well. I have mastered the art of staying up for several abnormal hours after the usual bedtime and lived to tell you about it. I conquered my fears of the “ghostly phenomenon” happening in my room because nothing actually happens except a bunch of things falling off the table because everything is not arranged properly. Yes. I am definitely a kick-ass zombie momma! :) haha! Yaaaaay!

Yeah! I am the new “Cyclops” babe! :)

Annoying Kids On Air!

We all have those days that we get lucky enough to book a flight to a destination that we all wanted. You get your tickets. You get all so excited. You quickly pack your things. Repack your things because you think your luggage is overweight. You rush to the airport and prepare for boarding. You take a nice seat near the window where the sun is there to kiss your cheeks full of joy and your face gleaming with a twist of adventure. (Ok. That’s already over-the-top!) As the plane prepares for take off… you sit back and relax and adore the puffy clouds up up in the air.

My Airport Adventure. :) Continue reading
