Stepping Out of that Comfort Zone

laid back

I admit I took very simple things for granted. I grew up with almost everything provided for me – I consider myself as one of those “lucky” people probably born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I depended too much on household helps that it took me 21 years to realize that I don’t know how to survive without someone to rely on. This is what I have learned in Cebu for my week long exposure as a work crew in Young Life Summer Camp for High School students. Seriously? Yes.

Here are my revelations (and I am sure you’ll say “What a brat!” – Ok, I deserve that.): Continue reading

Hate Message all the way from Aisha’s Scrapyard!

You can’t actually predict anything. I guess HATE messages or just purely LOVE messages are worth reading – despite how teary-eyed you’ll get. Recently, I found myself reading a WordPress.com blogger whom I got to know as Aisha. She’s really funny and quirky too. That being said, I was even surprised when she decided to mention me in her blogs a couple of times. But this one was very sad... SHE HATES ME! hahaha :) kidding! Continue reading

Wednesdays at Le Reve

Valentine’s Day was so yesterday! Boo! We had a spontaneous “Post Valentine’s Day” celebration at Le Reve Deli and Cafe a few days ago. I was with my friend, Jed, now tagged as my “Food Buddy” since we really enjoy playing the role of “Amateur Food Critics.” The both of us enjoyed each other’s company, despite being “single” and “unattached” as of the moment. Haha! Why not? At least we could talk to one anothernot all alone in the corner of our rooms trying to have a conversation with the mirror for it to look like we’re having one! :)

Food Buddies. Continue reading

What Everybody Ought to Know About The Iloilo City Night Life

You could not just graduate from college without having the time of your life with friends, random “friendly” people, and hot DJs! I have friends in college that really enjoy a pitcher of cocktail mix, some ice, adrenaline-kicking music, crazy dancing, and a night to treasure. It is what it is. Partying is already an overused term for teenagers and certainly for young-adults! Bam! :)

The Smallville Complex is the place to be if you want to have that Ilonggo Night Life worthy experience! Check us out! haha! Continue reading

Party Like it’s the End of the World!

Party Like it’s Two thousand and Twelve! Happy New Year, everyone! This is gonna be great!

Apparently when I woke up, I was reminded by this song and it got me on my feet. Yes, I was in Manila a few hours ago (with my friends) and now, I am in Iloilo City, my homeland, to celebrate the New Year with my family. Nothing beats great music, good food, and fantastic company. Hope your New Year celebration would be a blast as well. Stay away from those fire crackers! hahaha! Diet starts TOMORROW! :) It’s the Holidays. hahaha I have the whole year to work on the flabs! Cheers to the Two-oh-one-two! Ciao! :D

We’re Throwing You a Kick-ass Party, Papa Jesus!

It’s Your birthday today, dear Jesus, and still You managed to give us the greatest gift of all – Love! Ahh, sweet LOVE.

I wonder how “cool” Jesus would be like if He lived in the 21st Century – with us of course! He must have shaved his face and put on those aviator shades and drive a sedan of His choice. He may throw the biggest party in the world to commemorate His “awesomeness” in saving us from sin. Jesus might be the “best-seller” in billboards endorsing the Holy Bible while doing his signature smile. Maybe we could ask for His autograph and tell Him how much we love Him. Just wondering, though. But it would be too cool to see him with the paparazzi or DJ-ing on famous party places. Wow. He’s the Divine Man! Continue reading

That so-called “Filipino Time”

Why do I really SUCK at being punctual in terms of typical “social gatherings?” Well, here’s the straight-to-the-point scenario we (Filipinos and non-Filipinos) would often observe: The kick-ass party starts at 6pm with nobody inside the room, later, guests arrive at 7pm, and then best pals arrive at 9pm with hard-to-believe reasons. Sounds familiar? Blame that on Filipino culture. Haha!

Whether you’re late or not as long as the plan is still on, why not? LOL! Filipino Time Mystery! Continue reading

Extra Virgin Zatazza Cafe

It is not everyday that you get to sit cozy and have your sip of chocomint latte paired with a crunchy oatmeal raisin cookie in a newly opened coffee shop and brag about it’s delightful ambiance. Like, really? Zatazza Cafe just opened a few days ago without me even knowing it. Thus calling it “extra virgin” LOL!

The brown monochrome reminds me of a coffee bean – the colors are in sync. Continue reading

Surprising Newspaper Feature!

One eventful night, we (me and my friends) went to this rad party at Aura – yes it’s in Smallville Iloilo. The famous Borgy Manotoc was there for the night and we could not resist the temptation of seeing him in person. Hey sorry we’re just normal girls trying to have a great evening (err maybe morning? lol)

Yeah we look so excited – much more like a pile of monchichis! haha! Continue reading
