Thoughts on Being a Guest Speaker

Well, today I “surprisingly” found myself attending the “CSI Nights” event of the I love Iloilo team by Gawad Kalinga – I was listening to three amazing speakers and let’s just say I got inspired of what they were discussing. After the forum and the little chit-chats, I came across a college friend, Tracy. Yeah. Small city! :) So I said “Hi.” – technically I said her name… then for a brief moment, I disappeared like a pro ninja!

Fourteen Long Days and a Ton of Backlogs

Remember my previous post about “Facebook and living life differently?” Well, I had a 2-week-hiatus. I went to my father’s homeland in Cauayan, Negros and the following week, I was in Compostela, Cebu. Now, I’m back home with a queezy feeling of wanting to travel some more. Who would have thought that I would love to meet new people and experience new things rather than just sit on my comfy chair and type and design all day long and eat the same food and do the same things over and over again. It’s somewhat ridiculous. :)

In a Relationship with Facebook

negros

It’s too depressing to innately know that most of us are living a life of comfort and blindly, we don’t really see what’s going on with the world unless we’ll take that little chunk of time to just, for a moment, think of the past, present, and the future. It’s as if we all live in this sphere revolving around the internetnot that it’s a bad thing (it’s actually a great invention, no doubt!). But my point is… have you ever told your Social Networking “virtual partner” to maybe cool things off for a moment? So that you could get out and experience real things rather than sit in front of the computer all day, complain, and say “I wish I was that girl on the photo tagged by (insert name of your mutual friend).” Continue reading

Britney is Not The Only One “Doing it Again”

I was on my way to my doctor yesterday and the song on my playlist was Britney’s popular hit “Oops! I did it again!” Just great! (insert sarcasm here) Remember that music video? With her wearing that red shiny tight-fit jumpsuit making her super hot?! That’s not the case with me. I was “hot” but not the hot-sexy type we see on TV. I was hot and feeling awfully crappy because I’m sick. haha! :D

Telling the world that I’m a GREAT nurse! Not the usual case of being sick. See what I mean? :) Continue reading

Virtual Condoms for Protection.

All I saw were the “sensitive” parts of the human body without the added CENSORED sign that we are accustomed to. Sheesh! If there’s anything crazy about this world it’s the ATTACK of the Facebook Porn spammers! One day you open your networking site to check for updates and all of a sudden you are bombarded with unsolicited pictures of (well, I don’t want to discuss the details – yikes!).

I was very upset when I scribbled this. Porn sucks. Continue reading

Pacquiao VS Marquez 2011 Fight

I woke up this late afternoon hearing the Philippine National Anthem being sung on Manny Paquiao’s fight with Juan Maruez. I’m not really a big fan of such a sport but I am always happy to hear that one Filipino Congressman is literally fighting for the country. To cut the story short, Pacquiao bagged the glory today – boy was I updated by Twitter, Facebook, and the good old POOR LIVE STREAMING of the event.

Talk about your opinions while watching the game at the same time checking out the twitter timeline! Sweet!  Continue reading

Surviving Candid Photography.

I was staring at the guy across the street. You wouldn’t have known that if I haven’t told you.

By definition, Candid Photography captures the spontaneity of the subject within events rather than setting up staged situation blah blah so there you go. Basically, Candid Photography in our everyday internet life are those annoying, un-posed, and unplanned photos of you taken by your close friends and deliberately tagging you in you Facebook account. IKR? Awesome! 8) Continue reading
