What a Normal Web Designer Does

This week I got a lot of calls from my clients regarding their design requests and mock-ups. Oooh! My phones were constantly ringing and in every call, I would to take that “deep breath” just to have the courage to talk to them. haha! The best thing about my job is that I could use my creativity to construct websites for those who are aiming to set up their company’s web presence. Well, online presence is a “must-have” nowadays. The bad thing is – deadlines! Boooooo! :P

Let me walk you through my “web designer” life because I rarely talk about it (well, there’s nothing much to talk about anyway) haha!

A Romantic Date with Coffee House Beanery Iloilo

Alongside the corner of Quezon-Ledesma St., stands a small coffee place perfect for an afternoon search of inspiration. This “barely noticeable” coffee haven is my favorite spot to get a dose of caffeine and a little extra kick of motivation as well. After a tiring morning, this is in fact a fantastic escape from all the daily life drama we I seem to have. A comfortable seat near the glass window, overlooking the busy street, will really make you feel as if time (at your own pace) is relatively slowing down. Continue reading

Coffee Keeps Me Alive During “Hell Weeks”

Literally keeping me alive! :)

Whether being stuck with a mountain of design jobs or a simple case of “I feel so darn sleepy,” coffee really helps! Need I say more? I’ve been bombarded with “responsibilities” this week and not to mention the earthquake that hit us last Monday! – I am in dire need of caffeine in my system right now just to compensate for everything that is happening. Lol! Continue reading

Le Reve Deli and Cafe in Iloilo!

The name is French (obviously because saying it twisted my tongue pretty much haha) which means “The dream coffee from the heart.” Casted under the new building along West Timawa Avenue, Molo, lies a great haven to have your afternoon talk over delicious food and coffee – more like “afternoon fattening escapade.” The ambiance will surely lure you into your typical Paris-coffee-shop setting with all the zebra-striped awning and the facade – beautifully crafted metal furnitures and green plants that add the finishing touches. Perks of Being an Octopus in a Box

Doing website development in the wee hours of the morning (inside my room) surrounded by piles of papers with sketches and structured designs for execution – made me feel as if I am trapped in a box (like seriously shoebox box!) haha! Not to mention I am fond of doing a lot of things all at the same time! To give you a simple example, here’s me in action:

Well, I don’t really want a purple-colored skin but this will do for a cartoon. haha Continue reading

Swimming on top of a Hill.

This is a review about the talk of the town, I guess. I was curious of that “amazing place” that they have mentioned. And you won’t even believe a thing that I just wrote on the title of this post, right? Maybe you are thinking of how could she possibly swim on a hill? Boo. The cool thing about this adventure is that you had the whole place to yourself and relaxation is really your mantra of the day. Oh yeah!

Arrrgh. I’m ‘zi Pirate who just ruined a pair of wayfarer sunglasses. Great landscape view at Damires’ Hills! Continue reading

Extra Virgin Zatazza Cafe

It is not everyday that you get to sit cozy and have your sip of chocomint latte paired with a crunchy oatmeal raisin cookie in a newly opened coffee shop and brag about it’s delightful ambiance. Like, really? Zatazza Cafe just opened a few days ago without me even knowing it. Thus calling it “extra virgin” LOL!

The brown monochrome reminds me of a coffee bean – the colors are in sync. Continue reading

Cheesecake and Calories! Yum!

Got a delicious Blueberry “oozed-up” Cheesecake from Maridel’s at the Plazuela. Very FOOD-GASMIC!

I don’t know if you people enjoy a slice of cheesecake but I definitely would want to ask for more especially if paired with its noble lover – the ever famous coffee. I love cheesecakes and if I could wish for anything in this world then you bet it. I’d say not cheesecakes, but ZERO CALORIES in cheesecakes haha! I got you good! :P Continue reading

A Slice of Heaven

Have you ever had that day in your life that problems tend to overshadow your great line of thinking and tried to take over your ego? Have you ever had that feeling of finding ways to escape a certain reality in your life? Well, I had. Lots of times!

A macro shot of my second-favorite cheesecake from Dulgies – Blueberry! Having an afternoon with my good friends!

Recently, I had my share of night clubbing and partying in the local night scene here in Iloilo City – Smallville. We had our fun but at the side of it, my website servers crashed and affected around 20 clients of mine in the design industry. That was a shock to me indeed. Continue reading
